Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a cellulose ester hollow fiber membrane useful for a ultrafiltration method or dialytic method.
CONSTITUTION: In a hollow fiber membrane producing method extruding a spinning dope prepared by dissolving cellulose ester in a mixed soln. consisting of an org. solvent and a swelling agent from the outer pipe of a nozzle having a double pipe structure and also extruding a core soln. from the inner pipe of the nozzle at the same time and spinning both of them by a dry/wet system to produce a hollow fiber membrane, as the core soln., a water-soluble org. polymeric compd. liquid at spinning temp. and having an m.p. equal to or higher than the temp. of a coagulation bath, for example, polyethylene glycol with an average mol.wt. of 600-2000 is used. By this constitution, the hollow fiber membrane having a uniform and thin thickness, excellent in inner surface smoothness and easy in the washing of the core soln. can be industrially produced.
