Title:
PRODUCTION OF CEMENTED CARBIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001049363
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a high wear resistance alloy member by charging a starting material green compact composed of diamond, metallic tungsten, carbon and a binder metal to the inside of an electrically insulating mold provided with an induction heating coil in the periphery, executing pressurizing, heating and igniring it by energizing to the induction heating coil, causing combustion synthesizing reaction to form tungsten carbide.

Binder metal preferably contains cobalt and copper group metal. The copper group metal is at least one kind selected from copper and silver and is incorporated into the binder suitably by 2 to 100 pts. (in total) per 100 pts. of Co by mass ratio. A mold 17 is composed of an electrically insulating material, an induction heating coil 21 is arranged at the periphery, and a cemented carbide raw material green compact 11 as a starting material is heated to ignire and sintered. The pressurizing is executed via molding sand 20 filled into a cylindrical pressure resistant-heat resistant insulating vessel. The vicinity of the cemented carbide raw material green compact 11 is hardened by graphite sheet 12 or graphite disks 13 and 14, and the induction of electric current is made possible.
