Abstract:
To allow starting material for a matrix to penetrate into fabric up to the interior and to produce a ceramic composite material excellent in strength without causing trouble such as the reduction of shearing strength between material layers.
Fabric 12 subjected to three-dimensional orientation along a cylindrical coordinate system is produced using ceramic reinforcing fibers 11. Starting material for a matrix is allowed to penetrate into the constituent reinforcing fibers of the fabric by a vapor phase impregnation method. A formed matrix 13 is made dense by a polymer impregnating and firing method.
