PURPOSE: To enable a uniform ceramic sheet free of pinholes to be easily formed, by placing electrode plates in a ceramic-containing liquid, and passing an electric current between the electrode plates.
CONSTITUTION: A ceramic powder is a powder of a dielectric, for example, barium titanate. The average particle diameter of the powder used is preferably not more than 0.5μm, and is preferably not more than 1/20 times the thickness of an objective sheet. As a binder is used an ionic higher molecular weight resin, for example a resin obtained by neutralizing amino groups of a polyamino resin with a carboxylic acid or a resin obtained by neutralizing a polycarboxylic acid resin with a base (e.g., ammonia or amine). The binder adheres to the ceramic powder, thereby assisting the ceramic powder in moving to an electrode. A solvent to be used may be any one which dissolves the binder or the like and in which the powder such as the ceramic powder can be dispersed, for example, water, an organic solvent or mixture thereof.
