PURPOSE: To enhance quality by freely movably arranging a knife edge along the radial direction of a winding reel and pushing this knife edge at specified pressing force on the outermost periphery of woven fabric which is wound on a winding reel and stuck with slurry.
CONSTITUTION: Woven fabric 20 rewound from a payoff reel 30 is immersed in a slurry bath 11 via an idle roll 32 and a controlling roll 33. The woven fabric is led to a sink roll 35 and tension thereof is detected. This tension is maintained constant by controlling the controlling roll 33. The woven fabric 20 stuck with slurry in the slurry bath 11 is passed between a regulation roll 37 and a doctor blade 38. The stuck amount is specified by removing excessively stuck slurry. Thereafter, the woven fabric is wound on a winding reel 39 via a cloth detector 40, a thickness meter 41 and an edge part detector 42. Then, a knife edge 45 is freely movably arranged in the radial direction in the vicinity of its external periphery thereof. This knife edge 45 is pushed to the outermost external periphery of the woven fabric 20. The distance from the outermost layer is maintained constant by detecting and controlling the pressing force thereof. Since the slurry layer 21 stuck to the woven fabric 20 passed therethrough is regulated to the specified thickness, a ceramic laminate is formed by rotation of the winding reel 39.
