Abstract:
To produce a ceramic thermal spraying roll used as a press roll in which doctor blades are hard to wear.
The surface of a roll shell 16 formed into a cylindrical shape is thermally sprayed with ceramic powder obtd. by adding a suitable amt. of titania to aeumina via a substrate treated layer and a buffer layer to form ceramic sprayed coating film 21. The surface of the ceramic sprayed coating film 21 is ground by diamond grinding stone and is thereafter subjected to finish working by an emery paper grinding stone 34 to flatten the surface of the ceramic sprayed coating film 21 with high accuracy.
