Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily produce a wick allowing stabilized combustion of kerosine and other liquid fuels by using porous ceramics with defined porosity and average pore diameter.
CONSTITUTION: The wick is composed of porous ceramics and so constructed that its portion 5 to be contacted with fuel oil is smaller in porosity and average pore diameter than the portion 3 on the side 2 where fuel oil is evaporated. More definitely, the porosity and average pore diameter of the portion 3 on the fuel oil evaporated side 2 are 25W60% and 10W100μm, respectively, and those of the portion 5 to be contacted with fuel oil don't exceed 2/3 of said respective values.
