Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make the thickness of a chromium oxide layer uniform and to improve the weldability of a Cr plated steel sheet by shortening the interval between the end of final supply of electric current and the beginning of washing and washing time. CONSTITUTION:When a steel sheet is plated with Cr or electrolytically chromated, washing is started within 0.5sec after the end of final supply of electric current and is completed in <=1.0sec. The thickness of a chromium oxide layer of the plated steel sheet is prevented from being made ununiform by excessive local dissolution by a sticking plating or chromating soln. The average electric resistance of the plated steel sheet is lowered, localized unevenness of the electric resistance is reduced and the weldability is improved.
