Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce a polybutadiene with a high cis-1,4 linkage content at a high yield by polymerizing a butadiene compd. in the presence of a catalyst system comprising a titanium compd., an aluminoxane, and an org. compd. contg. two or more hydroxyl groups. CONSTITUTION:A cis-1,4-polybutadiene contg. 90% or higher butadiene units linked in cis-1,4 linkage is obtd. by polymerizing a butadiene compd. in the presence of a catalyst system comprising: a titanium compd. of formula I [wherein R and R' are each a 1-20C hydrocarbon group; X is halogen; l>=0; m>=0; n-(l+m)>=0; and n is the valence of titanium] (e.g. tetraisopropoxytitanium); an aluminoxane obtd. by reacting trialkylaluminum with water; and an org. compd. shown by formula II, III, or IV (wherein R'' and R''' are each a 1-20C hydrocarbon group; Y is a 1-20C hydrocarbon group, O, S, etc.; R<1> to R<4> are each a 1-20C hydrocarbon group, hydroxyl group, etc.; y, y', z, and z' are each 0, or 1-4; and y'' and z'' are each 0, 1, or 2) and contg. two or more hydroxyl groups.
