Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled substance useful as a drug for cardiopathy, in high yield, by cyclizing a cis-d-2-acetoxy-3-(4'-methoxyphenyl)-3-[(2'-dimethylaminoethylamino)phenylthio]propionic acid compound.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula II can be produced by reacting the compound of formula I (R1 is H or lower alyl) with ≤1 equivalent of an acid anhydride at 0°CW room temperature for 1W3hr, in the presence of pyridine and optionally a base. The base is e.g. sodium carbonate, triethylamine, etc., and the acid anhydride is e.g. acetic anhydride, propionic anhydride, etc.
EFFECT: The objective compound can be produced in high yield and purity, under mild reaction condition in a relatively short time.
