PURPOSE: To improve the cleanliness of clad interface between the clading plate and a base metal and to obtain the clad material having high quality by arranging a scattering prevention plate just above a pouring gate in a mold and starting the pouring.

CONSTITUTION: The clading plate 1 is laid as holding as horizontal situation in the mold 3 and enclosed by pouring the different kind of molten base metal from the bottom pouring gate 4. In this case, the scattering prevention plate 6 is laid just above the pouring gate 4 to prevent spouting up of the pouring flow and suppress the scattering. In this way, the pouring molten steel flow is calmly ascended and as the concentration of the contaminated molten steel to the clad face of the clad material is prevented, the clad material having high quality is obtd.
