PURPOSE: To obtain a clad steel having good quality without having a mixture structure in the boundary part and defective adhesion in the joint part thereof by installing a clad core material which is made of the same material as molten steels and has a min. thickness at the boundary between the respective molten metals in a casting mold and casting the respective molten steels into the mold.
CONSTITUTION: The required molten steels 4, 5 are cast through respective runners 6, 7 into the casting mold 1 segmented by the clad core material 3 installed at the boundary part of the clad steel in the mold 1. The material 3 is made of the same material as the molten steels to be cast and is determined at the min. thickness at which only the surface layer is melted by the heat received from the molten steels in the stage of casting and adheres and bonds to the respective steels 4, 5 without melting the boundary part. The good adhesion between the material 3 and the steels 4, 5 is thus attained and the boundary part does not peel when the clad steel is made into a product. Since the boundary part of the core material 3 with the different materials does not melt, the clad steel having no mixed structure of both materials at the boundary part is obtd.
