PURPOSE: To obtain a coal-water slurry from a low-quality raw coal as well, by conducting a wet gravity separation of a slurry prepared by wet pulverizing a raw coal to remove a low-quality slurry containing a large amount of ash, recovering a coarsely pulverized coal from the separated low-quality slurry and incorporating the coarsely pulverized coal in a high-quality slurry.
CONSTITUTION: A raw coal is wet pulverized to obtain a raw slurry. The raw slurry is separated by wet gravity separation into a high-quality slurry containing a light coal powder in a large amount and a low-quality slurry containing a heavy coal powder in a large amount. A coarse coal powder is recovered from the low-quality coal by sieve separation and is incorporated in the high-quality slurry. The present process can reduce the cost of equipment and operation for an ash removing treatment.
