PURPOSE: To avoid the occurrence of deterioration in acid pickling property and secondary workability, due to high temp. coiling, and to obtain the steel sheet by subjecting a slab of extra low carbon steel, containing Ti and Nb by at least C and N equivalents, to hot rolling and to coiling under respectively specified conditions and then applying ordinary cold rolling and annealing to the resulting plate.
CONSTITUTION: A slab of a steel, which has a composition containing, by weight, ≤0.01% C, ≤0.01% N, 0.005-1.0% Al, and Ti and/or Nb by the amounts in the ranges satisfying the condition of C/12+N/14<Ti/48+Nb/93+0.0001 and also containing, if necessary, 0.0002-0.005% B, is hot-rolled. At this time, rolling is carried out at a temp. between the Ar3 transformation point and 700°C at ≥70% total draft while limiting the coefficient of friction, if necessary, to ≤0.2. The resulting hot rolled plate is coiled temporarily at ≥700°C, held for 10sec-10min, uncoiled, and coiled again at ≤600°C, followed by cold rolling and annealing.
