Title:
PRODUCTION OF COLD-SOLIDIFYING STARCH ADHESIVE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57170969
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: Sodium or potassium salt and ammonium salt of persulfuric acid and pernitric acid are added to starch glue, when the starch changes into a glue to stabilize the pH and viscosity of the glue which is suitably used to adhere corrugated cardboards and improve adhesion operability.

CONSTITUTION: At three stages, before, while and after starch changes into a glue, (A) sodium or potassium persulfate or pernitrate and (B) ammonium persulfate or pernitrate are added, preferably by 0.1W5wt% respectively. The resultant mixture is adjusted by means of a tucking machine to 80W100°C, 20W 50wt% concentration and 500W1,500 poise viscosity. Further, when necessary, a filler such as bentonite, an agent for increasing water resistance such as formaldehyde synthetic resin are added by 10W50wt% based on the total amount of starch used.

EFFECT: The resultant adhesive makes it possible to recover and reuse waste paper.

USE: Adhesion of paper, cloth, wood, plastics, inorganic materials.
