PURPOSE: To produce a color filter having a light-shielding film of specified pattern while preventing the omission of a blue picture element and the steps between the picture elements.

CONSTITUTION: A light-shielding film 5 of specified pattern, a red picture element 8 of specified pattern consisting of a photosetting resin and a green picture element 4 are provided on a transparent substrate 1, an uncured photosetting material layer of the blue picture element is formed on the surface of the substrate, a reflecting means 11 is set at a specified position on the front of the photosetting material layer, the entire surface of the uncured material layer is exposed from the rear by utilizing the red picture element and green picture element as the photomask, the uncured photosetting material is selectively cured by the light L from the rear and the light L reflected by the reflecting means, and the photosetting material layer is developed to form a blue picture element.
