PURPOSE: To improve yield of a product by fitting steel plates at four sides of narrow surfaces of a core material, bringing into contact one side of the wide surface of the core material with the mold inner wall and executing casting.
CONSTITUTION: The steel plate 7 is fitted to the four sides A, B, C, D of the narrow surfaces of the flat core l material 3 with welding and also one side of the wide surface E is brought into contact with the bottom pouring ingot mold 1 and hung with the supporting member 2. Next, different kind of the base metal 4 with the core material 3 is poured into the mold 1 through a runner 6. As the one side surface E of the core material 3 is not brought into contact with the molten metal, solidified speed of the molten metal at the front face does not differ from the other surface in the inner surface of the mold so much. Raising of the temp. of the core material 3 is little. Further, as there is no invasion of the air to the gap between solidified shell rapidly cooled and the core material 3, the oxidation of the interface at cracking opening part or sound part is prevented. By this method, the development of defect in the product complex material is prevented. Therefore, the yield of the product is improved.
