PURPOSE: To obtain a powdered composite polymer having excellent processability and transparency, by mixing a particulate vinyl chloride polymer, an ethylene/vinyl acetate/carbon monoxide terpolymer, etc. with a specified solvent and then removing said solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A particulate vinyl chloride polymer (A) having an average particle size of 40μm or below, an ethylene/vinyl acetate/caron monoxide terpolymer and/or a thermoplastic polyurethane (B), and a solvent (C) which is imcompatible with water, a poor solvent for component A and a solvent for component B, are mixed together in an aq. medium. The solvent C is then removed from the mixture, and the residue is dehydrated and dried. The average particle size of the polymer A must be 40μm or below. When it exceeds 40μm, ungelling particles are present in the processed product of the resulting composite polymer so that the appearance of the product is deteriorated and the strength is lowered.
