PURPOSE: To obtain a composite solid fuel excellent in ignitability and combustibility and high in crushing strength with a small electric power consumed.
CONSTITUTION: Easily pulverizable coal is pulverized to such an extent that at least 80% of the resulting coal powder passes through a sieve having openings of 0.25mm in size. Vegetable matter pulverizable with a small electric power to be consumed is pulverized to such an extent that the resulting vegetable matter powder passes through a sieve having openings of 2mm in size. The coal powder is mixed with at most 25wt.% vegetable matter powder. The resulting mixture as the starting material is pressed with a roll press while setting the roll support pressure at most about 8t/cm to form a composite solid fuel.
