PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing a composite solid fuel efficiently by a compressive force depending on the kind of feed coal at a reduced equipment cost.
CONSTITUTION: A process for producing a composite solid fuel comprising mixing 20-25wt.% vegetable powder with a coal powder to prepare a feedstock and subjecting the same to compression molding in a roll press, wherein when the feed coal has a Hardgrove grindability index of about 50 or more, the roll bearing pressure of the press is adjusted to 6t/cm or less, while when the coal used has the index of about 50 or less, the pressure is adjusted to 8t/cm or less. Therefore the process prevents excessively high compressive force from being exerted on the briquette, thus avoiding breakage of the briquette, decreasing wear of the roll and hence reducing the equipment cost.
