Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a well managed composition for synthetic resin polymerization having constant quality by recovering a mixture containing unreacted monomer, etc., and determining the composition of recycling mixture under specific conditions.
SOLUTION: A mixture containing unreacted monomer, a solvent, a chain transfer agent and a reaction byproduct is recovered, and a recycling mixture is stored in a storage tank. The composition of the recycling mixture is determined by an automatic analyzer, and a recycling ratio is determined as shown below. When the chain transfer coefficient to styrene of the composition excluding monomer is ≥0.01 at 60°C, a composition in the recycling mixture is classified as a chain transfer agent, and when it is <0.01 at 60°C, a composition is classified as a solvent, and the composition for synthetic rein polymerization is obtained.
