PURPOSE: To make a piercing and trimming unnecesary and to elevate production efficiency and quality by bend-working and pressing a metallic rod with a semicircular section and joining the leg part with a spot welding on its press contacting.

CONSTITUTION: A metallic material rod 2 having a continuous semicircular section is intermittently fed from a feeding device 1 to between pressing dies 5, 6 which are fit in each other and a recessed groove 2c is pressed at specified intervals to make a cable inserting aperture 2e. The rod 2 having said recessed groove 2c is fed out from an aperture 8a at the tip end of a quill 8 and cut at the intermediate position to bisect the groove 2c for making a rod material 20 in a certain length having the groove 2c at both ends. This rod material 20 is then pressed onto a core metal 10 by a die 11 and bent to a reverse U shape. And both legs 2', 2" of the rod material 20 is pressure-connected by pressing dies 12, 13 before and behind and spot-welded.
