Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a functional crosslinked molded polyolefin product wherein the crosslink density differs from portion to portion by bring a molded item of a copolymer of an alkenylsilane with an olefin into contact with a soln. of a catalyst in such a way as not to uniformly infiltrate the catalyst into the inner portion of the molded item, then picking up the item from the soln. of the catalyst and heat-treating the item. CONSTITUTION:A molded item of a copolymer of an alkenylsilane (e.g. vinylsilane) with an olefin (e.g. ethylene) is brought into contact with a soln. of a catalyst in such a way as not to uniformly infiltrate the catalyst into the inner portion of the molded item, then picked up from the soln. of the catalyst, and heat-treated. According to the foregoing procedure, the resulting molded product can be such that the crosslink density thereof varies in the depth-wise direction from the surface thereof. Further, the contact temp. of a single molded item with the soln. of the catalyst may be set to vary from one place of the item to another to obtain a molded product wherein the crosslink density differs from place to place.
