Title:
PRODUCTION OF CROSSLINKED VINYL CHLORIDE RESIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS55118927
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title resin having a high crosslink density with preventing scorch in molding, by reacting a copolymer prepared from a copolymerizable organic peroxide and vinyl choride, etc. with a specific organosilicon compound, followed by crosslinking with water in the presence of a ctalyst.

CONSTITUTION: A vinyl chloride copolymer obtaned by copolymerizing a copolymerizable organic peroxide (e.g., t-butylperoxyallylcarbonate, etc.) with vinyl chloride or a copolymerizable monomer (e.g., acrylate, etc.) with it is reacted with an organosilicon compound (e.g., vinyltriethoxysilane) shown by the formula RR'SiY2 (R2 is olefin hydrocarbon group, hydrocarbonoxy group; Y is hydrolyzable organic group; R' is R or Y) at a temperature not lower than 100°C. The resulting product is treated with water in the presence of a silanol condensation catalyst to give the desired crosslinked resin.
