To obtain the subject compound in high selectivity and in high yield with effectively preventing generation of byproducts and polymerization by isomerizing a specific alkenyl compound in the presence of a stabilizer and an isomerization catalyst.
In the presence of a stabilizer [preferably a primary antioxidant (e.g. hydroquinone, etc.), a secondary antioxidant (e.g. sulfur, etc.), a chelating agent (e.g. ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, etc.)], an alkenyl compound expressed by formula I [R1 and R2 are each H or an organic residue; R3 and R4 are each H, OH or an organic residue, (n) is 2-4; (m) is 1-10], (e.g. 2-vinyl-1, 3- dioxorane, etc.)], is isomerized in the presence of an isomerization catalyst (preferably a ruthenium complex catalyst), preferably at 50-200°C to obtain the objective compound expressed by formula II. The used amount of the isomerization catalyst is preferably 0.0002-0.001 mole based on 1 mole of the compound of formula I. The total amount of the stabilizer to be added is preferably 0.01-7 wt.% of the compound of formula I.
