PURPOSE: To obtain the derivative industrially and advantageously with a recoverable and reusable catalyst by using the catalyst comprising a salt of a rare earth element and a perfluoroalkanesulfonate, reacting a conjugated olefin with an active olefin.
CONSTITUTION: A conjugated olefin of formula II (R1 to R6 are H, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkoxy or any two of R1 to R6 are linked to form cyclic structure) is reacted with an active olefin of formula III (R7 to R10 are H, halogen, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, etc., or any two of R7 to R10 are linked to form cyclic structure) in the presence of a rare earth element-based catalyst of formula I (RE is rare earth element; Rf is perfluoroalkyl) as a catalyst to inexpensively give the objective cyclohexene derivative of formula IV in a shortened reaction time.
