Abstract:
To produce a highly pure diamine from a dialdehyde.
This method for producing a diamine comprises feeding a solution obtained by dissolving a dialdehyde in a solvent into a reactor having a hydrogenation catalyst, a solvent, ammonia and hydrogen therein and subjecting the dialdehyde to a reductive amination reaction to produce the corresponding diamine. Therein, a 3-10C alcohol solvent is used as the solvent, and the boiling points of by-produced acetal compounds and N-alkylated diamines originated from the solvent are sufficiently more enhanced that the boiling point of the objective diamine, thereby facilitating the distillatory separation and purification of the diamine.
