Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a dichlorinated compound by reacting an olefin compound with hexachloroethane in the presence of a metallic catalyst, thereby selectively dichlorinating the double bond of the olefin compound.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula II is produced by reacting a compound of formula I (R1 to R3 are H or lower alkyl; R is (substituted) lower alkyl; R and R1 or R3 may together with bonding C atom form a ring) with hexachloroethane in the presence of a metallic catalyst (preferably a ruthenium complex) at 80-150°C in a solvent.
