Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a disk pad having a large surface area, a high thermal conductivity to a molded article, improved moldability, and a high coefficient of friction, without a blister and a crack, by equipping many pins on a top or a bottom force.

CONSTITUTION: The molding blend 3 consiting of, for example, 40W50 wt.% of asbestos, 10 wt.% of phenolic resin, a filler, and a stabilizer, is packed into the bottom force 1 of a thermoforming mold, on which the top force 2' equipped with many conical pins 6 is placed. The blend is compression molded, for instance, at 120W180°C and 200W400kg/cm2 to give the desired porous disk pad 7 having many holes 8 formed by the pins 6
