Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a method for producing a 'dried mugwort', capable of maintaining the color, taste and aroma unique to the mugwort and excellent in keeping quality without requiring any treatment using a chemical.
CONSTITUTION: A mugwort 2 in a wet state washed with water is directly supplied into a spacing between a pair of cylindrical rotating drums 1, having parallel rotating shafts, arranged so as to bring the surfaces thereof into substantial contact and heated so as to afford 110-150°C surface temperature while mutually reversely rotating the drums. Thereby, rolling and drying of the mugwort are simultaneously carried out.
