Abstract:
PURPOSE: To efficiently produce a PVC/polyurethane elastomer having reduced compression set and excellent mechanical strength without the necessity for a difficult pretreatment.
CONSTITUTION: A vinyl chloride polymer (a) is impregnated with a polymer polyol and a compound having three or more isocyanate groups under stirring in a mixer to obtain a readily flowable particulate mixture. A catalyst for urethane formation is added to the mixture to form a crosslinked polyurethane in the polymer (a). The resulting PVC/polyurethane composite is mixed with a plasticizer with heating.
