Title:
PRODUCTION OF ELECTROCHROMIC DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5525082
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To firmly bond electrochromic layers to transparent conductive films and make coloring effect efficient by dividing said layers to two layers and vapor-deposition-forming the first layer at a high temperature and the second layer at low temperature.

CONSTITUTION: A glass subatrate 1 provided with segment electrodes S is heated to a temperature above the crystallization temperature of electrochromic material such as WO3 or below the substrate softening point and the first EC layer is vapor deposition formed thereon in such a manner as to cover the electrodes S. Next, the substrate 1 is cooled to a temperature below the crystallization temperature of the EC material and the second EC layer is vapor-deposition-formed. An oxide film 3 such as of SiO2 is formed on the portions except the EC layers 2 composed of these two layers. A transparent glass substrate 6 provided with a common electrode 5 is fixed by way of a spacer 4 to the substrate 1 and an electrolyte layer 7 is held in the space thus formed.
