PURPOSE: To easily produce a photoreceptor coated with a dispersion coating uniformly on a substrate by coating the dispersion coating on a cylindrical substrate using the 1st roll and removing the excess coating by the 2nd roll in contact with the 1st roll.
CONSTITUTION: An adherend (cylindrical substrate) 4, the 1st roll 5 and the 2nd roll 6 are disposed in proximity in this order, and these are successively rotated in the opposite directions as shown by arrows. Next, a dispersion coating (a disperse system of photoconductive material powder and insulation-characteristic resin) 7 is supplied in the trough formed by the adherend 4 and the 1st roll 5 (symbol 8 denotes the dam for preventing the outflow of the coating 7). Thence, when the coating 7 has been continuously coated uniformly on the substrate 4, the spacing between the 1st roll 5 and the 2nd roll 6 is narrowed and the coating 7 for excess portion is scraped off by a doctor knife 9 after shifted to the 2nd roll 6, thus after the excess coating has been completely removed and the coating on the substrate 4 has dried up, the substrate 4 is removed and this is dried under heating, whereby the electrophotographic receptor is obtained.
