Abstract:
To obtain the subject compound useful as a raw material for producing industrial products in a wide field such as polyurethane foam, elastomer and coating material in high yield stably for a long period of time.
A formamide compound in an amount of 1mol is reacted with dimethyl carbonate in a molar ratio of 0.1-20 in the presence of methanol, taking out formed methyl formate from the system by reaction distillation and thermally decomposing a prepared urethane compound in the presence of an inert solvent and a compound of the formula Xn-Ar-SO2-NH2 (Ar is benzene, naphthalene, etc.; X is an alkyl or amino; (n) is an integer of 0-30) (e.g. p toluenesulfonamide). In the production, preferably a reactor made of a metal material is used.
