PURPOSE: To improve the industrial advantage of the titled process, by reacting an amide compound with an alcohol using ammonium bisulfate as an esterification catalyst and a deammoniation agent to obtain the titled ester, thermally decomposing by-produced ammonium sulfate to obtain ammonia and reusing produced ammonium bisulfate.
CONSTITUTION: An ester is produced by reacting an amide compound with an alcohol preferably at 50W150°C using ammonium bisulfate as an esterification catalyst and a deammoniation agent according to the reaction formula. The amount of ammonium bisulfate is preferably ≥1mol., usually 1W10mol. per 1mol. of the amide compound and the particle diameter of the ammonium bisulfate is preferably ≤1mm. After recovering the produced ester, the by-produced ammonium sulfate is thermally decomposed (preferably at 200W300°C) to recover ammonia and the ammonium bisulfate produced by the thermal decomposition process is reused as the esterification catalyst and deammoniation agent.
