Abstract:
PURPOSE: To stably produce ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer hollow fiber membrane without cementation by specifying temp. of a coagulation liquid and spinning dope and concn. of the coagulation liquid when ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymers are dissolved and coagulated in the coagulation liquid.
CONSTITUTION: Ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymers are dissolved in a solvent such as dimethylsulfoxide and extruded through an annular nozzle into a coagulation bath. Temp. of the coagulation bath CT°C, coagulation bath concn. C%, spinning dope temp. DT°C, glass transition temp. of satd. water-contg. ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymers Tg, °C, and glass transition temp. of dry ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymers Tg2°C satisfy the relation of Tg1-30<CT<Tg1+50, C≤45-CT, Tg2-25<DT. Thereby, the opening of hollow fibers is not required in the process of making modules.
