Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain high-strength and high-twisting characteristics by annealing a low thermal expansion wire in a specific temp. range then subjecting the same to drawing of specific reduction of area then to alternate bending.

CONSTITUTION: A low thermal expansion wire, for example, a wire consisting by weight % of 30W40 Ni, 0W10 Co., 0.2W0.4 C, and the balance Fe and impurities is annealed in a 800W1,000°C temp. range. Next, it is subjected to drawing of 80W95% reduction of area then to alternate bending. Further to enhance strength, it is sometimes subjected to drawing of ≤30% reduction of area after the above- described processes.
