PURPOSE: To produce F1 hybrid seeds of rice plant capable of mechanizing operation from seeding, planting to seed harvesting by taking genetic considerations so that only a fertilization line is capable of producing seeds in the pollination and fertilization lines and carrying out mixed planting of both the lines.
CONSTITUTION: A herbicide-tolerant fertilization line and a herbicide-sensitive pollination line in which a fertilization line and a pollination line are respectively a male sterility line and a fertility recovering line or a castrating agent- sensitive line and a castrating agent-tolerant line are subjected to mixed planting and cultivating. After the fertilization line is fertilized, a herbicide is sprayed on both the lines to collect the resultant seeds produced in the fertilization line.
