PURPOSE: To obtain a process for producing fabric raised on both sides, enabling easy production of the fabric having long and uniform raised fibers on both faces and capable of minimizing the generation of pilling, etc.

CONSTITUTION: Fabric to be raised is formed by knitting or weaving loop piles 5, 6 on both faces of ground fabric with pile yarn 8. At least the loop 6 having shorter loop length between the loop piles formed on both faces of the raising fabric is cut at the intermediate part 6a and raised or the pile is raised and simultaneously cut with the raising means. At the same time, the raised fibers are cut with a shearing to the length nearly equal to the length of the fibers on the other side raised with a raising means. Raised fibers are formed on both sides of the ground fabric by this process.
