PURPOSE: To improve the heat insulating properties by making white powdery child particles of Al(OH)3 adhere to the surface of a parent particle composed of a fine hollow powder, dispersing the resultant hollow capsule powder as a filler in a resin matrix, molding and hardening it.
CONSTITUTION: A fine hollow powder such as an organic microballoon having several score to several hundred μm average particle diameter is used as a parent particle and child particles composed of a white Al(OH)3 powder having several μm average particle diameter are made to adhere to the surface of the parent particle according to the microcapsulation method such as the electrostatic adhesion method so as to prepare a hollow capsule powder. The resultant hollow capsule powder is then used as a filler and mixed in a matrix composed of a liquid methacrylate resin, etc., in a prescribed ratio. The resultant mixture is stirred and uniformly dispersed so as to prepare a raw material of a faking material. The resultant raw material is subsequently molded according to the press molding method or the injection molding method, then cooled and hardened, thus producing the objective prescribed-shape faking material excellent in heat insulating properties, e.g. an artificial marble, an artificial ivory or an artificial wood.
