PURPOSE: To obtain a fiber reinforced phenol resin molded article having excellent weatherability and good adhesion corresponding to the quasi-noncombustible standard of the Ministry of Construction by successively laminating a fluoroplastic surface decorative layer, a primer layer composed of a vinyl ester resin compsn, and a backing layer wherein a glass fiber base material is impregnated with a phenol resin compsn. on a molding surface to cure all of the layers and subsequently demolding the laminate.
CONSTITUTION: At first, a surface decorative layer composed of fluoroplastic is provided on a mold surface and a primer layer composed of a vinyl ester resin compsn. prepared by compounding 5-50 pts.wt. of aluminum hydroxide with 100 pts.wt. of a vinyl ester resin obtained by reacting an epoxy resin and an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid is provided thereon and a backing layer is formed on the primer layer. The backing layer is formed by impregnating a glass fiber base material with a phenol resin compsn. prepared by compounding 20-50 pts.wt. of clay and 10-50 pts.wt. of aluminum hydroxide with 100 pts.wt. of a phenol resin. The surface decorative layer, the primer layer and the backing layer are successively laminated on a mold surface and cured before demolded.
