Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe catheter provided with a foldable cover for safely and automatically shielding the tip of the sharp terminating end of an introduced needle after using the needle so as to arrange the catheter inside the body of a patient.
SOLUTION: A needle assembly is provided with this foldable needle shielding body and a needle shielding assembly 10 is provided with a handle 20, the needle 30, a needle hub, a latch 40, a spring, a needle tip guard and the catheter 70. The base end part of the handle 20 is formed by a foldable non-elastic material. When the latch 40 is operated, the base end part 22 is extended and the needle 30 is housed inside the handle 20. When the shielding assembly 10 is completely extended, the tip guard is elastically moved on the tip of the terminating end of the needle 30, completely pulls the needle 30 inside the handle 20 and then, prevents the needle 30 from being relatively moved to a terminating end direction.
