Title:
PRODUCTION OF FINE-GRAIN SILVER HALIDE EMULSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08314037
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a fine-grain silver halide emulsion having excellent production stability and storage property by incorporating silver halide particles having a specified or smaller average particle size and carrying out a part or the whole process of forming particles under the presence of an imidazole compd.

CONSTITUTION: A part or the whole process of forming particles is carried out under the presence of an imidazole compd. and the emulsion contains silver halide particles having 0.15μm average particle size. Further, one kind of radical scavenger is added in any time of the production process. The imidazole compd. used in the forming process of particles is expressed by formula. In formula, R11-R14 may be same or different and are hydrogen atoms, or unsubtd. alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, or aralkyl groups, or these groups with at least one selected from hydroxyl, cyano, alkoxy, free radical or esterified carboxyl, and sulfo groups.
