Title:
PRODUCTION OF FINE PARTICLE AND FINE PARTICLE DISPERSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3450687
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the aggregation and growth of fine particles in a polymer, etc., by forming a film of the polymer or oligomer having a functional group, vapor-depositing a metal on the film and dispersing the metal and/or its oxide in the film as the fine particles.
SOLUTION: A paste prepared by dissolving a polymer or an oligomer in org. solvent is applied on a substrate 1 to form a film 2. This polymer or oligomer has at least one kind of functional group selected from a cyano group, an amino group and a thiol group on the terminal or side chain of the molecule. A metal is vacuum-deposited on the film 2. A noble metal such as gold, silver and palladium is preferably used as the metal. The deposited metal forms the fine particles 4 of the metal or its oxide which are densely aggregated on the film. Further, the uniform deposition of the fine particles 4 is promoted by heating the polymer or oligomer at a temp. close to the m.p. or softening point of the polymer or oligomer 3, and the concd. fine particles 4 are formed.
