Title:
PRODUCTION OF FLAME-RETARDANT CARBON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11157817
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide the production of the flame-retardant carbon low in powdering phenomenon, relatively high in hardness of each particle and nearly uniform in particle size.

A porous inorg. matter having a particle size of order of 3-5 mm is used as a center core material, and an org. material to be carbonized which is much finer than the center core material, an inorg. binder of a fine pulverous mineral clay and the center core material are mixed. Water is added to the mixture and the mixture is agitated to form a granular body in which the center core material becomes a center core caused by a difference of particle size by the agitation function. A surface layer of the mixture of the material to be carbonized an the inorg. binder is formed around the center core, and the granular body is burned.
