Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form the flexible inorg. material by pressurizing an inorg. molding material consisting of star sand and latex or the star sand, the latex and cement within molds, then heating and curing the material.

CONSTITUTION: The inorg. molding material is prepd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. (hereafter pts.) star sand of a hollow structure having 0.3 to 2mm grain sizes, 2 to 20 pts., in terms of solid content, latex, such as chloroprene rubber latex, having 6 to 10pH and 40 to 70% concn. and ≤200 pts. SIRASU, etc., at need by means of a blender, etc. This material is packed into the ceramic molds and is press molded; thereafter, the molding is dried by heating to 80 to 100°C, by which the flexible inorg. material is obtd. The cement paste prepd. by adding water at 30 to 70 pts. ratio to 100 pts. star sand, 1 to 20 pts., in terms of solid content, latex and 100 pts. cement is added and mixed as cement to the above-material at 5 to 60 pts., by which the inorg. molding material is prepd. Such material is packed into the molds and is press molded; thereafter, the molding is matured, by which the flexible inorg. material is obtd.
