PURPOSE: To obatain a flexible urethane foam large in impact resilience and small in compressive residual strain and wet thermal residual strain without using a Freon compound degrading the ozonosphere by controlling mol.wts. between crosslinking points within a constant range.
CONSTITUTION: This method for producing a flexible polyurethane foam comprises reacting (A) active hydrogen-containing compounds comprising (i) a polymerpolyol having an active hydrogen equivalent of 1300-10000 and (ii) a polyetherpolyol having an active hydrogen equivalent of 26-500 and produced by adding an alkylene oxide to a starting substance having at least four active hydrogen atoms in the molecule with (B) an organic polyisocyanate and water in the presence of (C) a catalyst so as to give mol.wts. of 15003000 between crosslinked points, where the amounts of the components used for the reaction are those satisfying the equation which is represented when the NCO index is 100.
