To provide a method for continuously producing the objective compound in high yield while decreasing the amount of the generation of byproducts by continuously supplying tetrafluoroethylene and an alkoxide compound at a specific rate to a reaction system and carrying out the reaction.
When (A) tetrafluoroethylene and (B) an alkoxide compound (e.g. CF3CF2CH2ONa) are continuously supplied to a reaction system to react, and the reaction product containing (C) a fluorine-containing vinyl ether is continuously taken out from the reaction system, the supply of the component B is carried out at a rate satisfying the formula 0.5<(Ai+Bi)/A0<1 [A0 is a concentration (mol/L) of the component B supplied to the reaction system; Ai is a concentration of the component B present in the reaction system (mol/L); Bi is a concentration of the component C present in the reaction system (mol/L)]. A0 is preferably 0.01-5 mol/L.
