Abstract:
PURPOSE: To introduce highly acidic sites effective for imparting pigment- dispersibility and adhesivity by using suspension polymerization as a process for the production of a fluororesin for coating having low residual unreacted monomer content.
CONSTITUTION: A fluororesin containing a fluoroolefin, a carboxylic acid vinyl ester, a hydroxy-containing allyl ether and an unsaturated carboxylic acid as essential components is produced by suspension polymerization using a ≥6C unsaturated carboxylic acid. Since the product has high acid value and low unreacted monomer content, it has high adhesivity and curability and is especially suitable as an electrodeposition paint.
