PURPOSE: To easily and continuously produce a fluororesin oriented film that has a large area and is effective in forming a uniaxially oriented thin film by rubbing the surface of a fluororesin tape.
CONSTITUTION: In this production, a rubbing material drum 1, tape conveying drums 2 and 3 and a fluororesin tape 4 are used, wherein the tape conveying drum 2 can be heated with a heating means. The surface of the PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) tape 4(having e.g. a 100μm thickness and a 40mm width) is heated to e.g. 300°C and the PTFE tape 4 is moved at a O.1cm/sec speed while allowing its surface to press on the curved side face of a stainless steel cylindrical drum 1 that has a 1.0cm diameter and is similarly heated, to rub the surface of the PTFE tape 4. A polyazo based dyestuff is vapor- deposited on the PTFE oriented film thus produced on the tape 4 to form a dyestuff film. By using this production, the fluororesin oriented film can continuously be mass-produced on the tape 4.
